AI for document review
Evata builds AI systems for companies of 50 to 500 people whose best people spend their days on paperwork: reviewing records, entering data from emails and forms, and drafting documents. The system does the reading and the first draft. Your people review it and make the decisions. Our systems are running in production at FDA-regulated manufacturers, where every record has to hold up in an audit.
The work we take off your team
These are the jobs we automate first. Each one is reading, comparing or drafting, and each one ends with a person on your team approving the result.
Emails, purchase orders, forms and scanned files are read and turned into structured data, then written to the system you already use. Nobody retypes them.
Records, contracts and specifications are checked against the rules you set. The system flags what is missing or does not match, so your reviewers spend their time on exceptions.
SOPs, records, replies and reports are drafted from your source documents and templates. A person edits and approves the draft before it is used.
Cross-references, citations and versions are checked across the whole set, so broken links between documents are found before an auditor finds them.
What we have built
We describe them without naming the customers.
Customer purchase orders arrived by email and were retyped into an order tracker. Now each email is read by OCR, an OpenAI GPT-4o model turns it into a structured order, and the workflow writes it to the tracker. Other workflows send reminders and produce reports.
An on-premise system for document control with electronic signatures, inventory, training and batch records. AI adapts incoming documents, extracts specifications from source files, and drafts master manufacturing records for a person to review. Approvals, signatures and batch calculations are ordinary validated code, with no AI in them.
Built to hold up in an audit
Regulated manufacturers taught us these rules. They make any document system safer, regulated or not.

How an engagement runs
We start with the process that costs you the most hours. Builds are a fixed project fee, agreed before work begins.
We map the work as it is done today and agree how the result will be measured.
We build in short cycles against your real documents and rules.
We test it with your team, then put it into production.
We train the people who use it and stay on to maintain it.
Who builds it
Evata is led by Jared Clark, JD, MBA. He has spent twelve years leading quality and FDA regulatory programs and, through Certify Consulting, has taken more than 200 companies through GMP and ISO certification. He holds computer system validation and computer software assurance credentials, which cover how software is tested and documented for FDA-regulated use.
We build on Claude and on OpenAI's models. Evata is an OpenAI Select Partner and is Registered in Anthropic's Claude Partner Network. We are based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Common questions
Much of it, yes. AI is good at the reading, comparing and first-draft work: pulling the fields out of a document, checking it against your criteria, and flagging what does not match. Your people keep the decision. We build the system around your real documents and rules, and a person on your team reviews the output before it becomes a record.
Often it can do the repetitive part: reading incoming documents, entering the data, and preparing drafts. That is the work we automate first. For one manufacturer we built a workflow that reads purchase-order emails and enters each order in their tracker, which removed the retyping between email, purchase orders and the order tracker. We will tell you in the assessment whether your volume and document types make this worth building.
We build them. Both systems described on this page are running in production at the customer. Strategy work is available when you want it, but the engagement we are set up for is a working system in your environment. More on custom AI agents, rolling out Claude and working with Utah companies.
Builds are a fixed project fee, agreed before work starts. One workflow runs $5,000 to $150,000, depending on how many document types are involved, which systems it has to connect to, and whether it has to be validated for a regulator. The first step, a free assessment, ends with a scope you can price.
It can, if it is built for that from the start. We keep a person's review and approval on every record, leave an audit trail of who did what, and use ordinary validated code for anything that has to be exactly right every time, such as calculations, approvals and signatures. The model drafts and checks; it does not sign. Our founder has twelve years in FDA quality and regulatory work and holds computer system validation and computer software assurance credentials, so the audit is designed in, not added later. See how AI document review holds up in an audit.
Yes. We built an on-premise quality platform for a dietary supplement manufacturer that covers document control with electronic signatures, inventory, training and batch record drafting. AI extracts specifications from source files and drafts master manufacturing records for a person to review. Approvals, signatures and batch calculations are deterministic code, and the system runs on the customer's own server under their quality system.
Start with one process that costs you the most hours, not with a company-wide license. We build on Claude and on OpenAI's models. The free assessment ranks your processes by value, and we can pair the first build with training so your teams use the tools well.
Yes. The quality platform we built drafts records for review, and it also checks the document set itself. On one pass it found 60 broken document references and 105 citations to documents that did not exist, which the quality team then corrected. Drafts go to a person for review and approval before they become controlled documents.
The pattern is the same one we have in production for purchase orders: read the incoming email or form, turn it into structured data, route it, and draft the reply or next step for a person to approve. Our shipped work so far is in manufacturing, so we will be plain in the assessment about what is new for your process.
Yes. Evata Consulting Group is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We work with mid-sized companies in Utah and elsewhere.
The assessment is free. You leave with the processes ranked by value and a clear picture of what a first build looks like.
